A ministerial conference on environment organized by the Azerbaijani government and the UNEP will be held in the Gabala region.

The event will be held in the run-up to the next session of the U.N. General Assembly on Biological Diversity in New York in September, Azerbaijani Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry told Trend today.
The seminar on "Investing in biodiversity and increasing support for the green economy," which will be held in four sessions, will discuss the biological diversity of Eastern Europe and Central Asia, protection of biological diversity in the regions of Eastern Europe and Central Asia; economics of ecosystems and biodiversity, planning activities on biological diversity at regional and national level.
The conference will bring together European ecology ministers, UNEP Europe Regional Office Director Christophe Bouvier, Convention on Biological Diversity Executive Secretary Ahmed Djoghlaf and a number of other international experts.
