Azerbaijan's first lady inaugurated a culture center in Baku

Azerbaijan's first lady, president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador, MP Mehriban Aliyeva and her daughter Leyla Aliyeva inaugurated a culture center in Turkan settlement in Baku on July 7.

First lady Mehriban Aliyeva and her daughter cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the Center. They were informed that the construction of the Center was started in 2009 at the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The Center covers 1500 square meters, and necessary conditions have been created here for various events to be held.

A photo stand has been launched in the Center's foyer featuring national leader Heydar Aliyev's participation in various cultural events held during both the soviet period and the country's independence years. The Center's library has a collection of books in Azerbaijani, English and Russian languages.

Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva became familiar with a computer class operating in the Center. Reportedly, all of the computers are connected to the internet.

A photo stand on the Center's second floor features the workings of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. Azerbaijan's first lady saw workings of little artists in a painting circle.

Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva and Leyla Aliyeva also toured a park built around the Center. he first lady praised the work done here. Then, Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva met members of Khazar region's general public.
