Will the driving exams in Azerbaijan change?

08 July 2010 [18:35] - TODAY.AZ
The exam questions for driver's licenses in Azerbaijan have not been changed yet, the Interior Ministry Traffic Police spokesman Kamran Aliyev said.
"New issues in the exam tests will be introduced after the candidates for the license are thoroughly acquainted with the changes and additions made to the traffic rules, Aliyev said.

At an extraordinary meeting of the Azerbaijani parliament in late June, the Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law of the Azerbaijan Republic "Traffic rules" was adopted. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree to apply it in early July. According to one of the changes, the amount of the fine for talking over a mobile phone while driving is 50 manat.

He said that it is better to learn the law on Traffic rules and code of administrative violations, but not the template materials provided on the Internet to prepare for the exam.

"A candidate for a driver's license should not study the specific situation, but know the legal basis. In this regard, the State Traffic Police does not advise to use formulaic tests", Aliyev said.
