Locust attack: Azerbaijani Ministry announced a state of emergency

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources has announced a state of emergency in country's Hajigabul region due to attack of Moroccan and Asian locusts.

The locusts have destroyed 20-25 hectares of green area near Alat-Hajigabul highway, the Ministry of Environment said. Despite drug spraying, fertilizers, additional cultivation and watering operations conducted by the office for pest control of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, the center of emergencies and local organizations, the situation has remained unchanged. According to specialists, destroyed trees and shrubs will restore their strength soon.
