Baku recognized city of class "A" by UN

The United Nations increased estimates of Azerbaijani capital Baku in its system of classification of service sites in range of A up to E, Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

According to the ministry, the Baku-based UN resident office has announced of assignment of degree A to Baku among cities where the UN works.

“The UN links increase of the estimates with fast pace of Baku lifestyle improvement,” the ministry reported.

Among the countries of the region degree A was also assigned to Ankara and Istanbul, degree B to Tehran, degree D to Ashgabat and Tbilisi.

Kabul, Peshavar, Harare and Mogadisho were related to category E.

UN officials working in places of category A with good living conditions do not receive additional payment.
