Azerbaijan's first lady meets president of Thalassaemia Federation of Turkey

Azerbaijan's First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva has met President of Thalassaemia Federation of Turkey and Mediterranean Foundation on Hematology Duran Canatan.

Mehriban Aliyeva praised contributions of Canatan, an expert at the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, to fighting thalassaemia.

She spoke about a program launched by the Foundation to prevent thalassaemia in Azerbaijan, noting the efforts of the Baku Thalassaemia Center in this regard.

The President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation stressed the importance of learning Canatan's experience in fighting the disease.

Canatan praised efforts of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation towards fighting thalassaemia.
