Woman kills year-old son, commits suicide in Azerbaijani region

Assistant to Goychay Prosecutor General Gabil Safarov said Gizilgul Latifova, 22, native of Oguz region, killed her year-old son and later committed suicide in Ince village of Goychay region where she lived with family.  

“Gizilgul Latifova first hung her year-old son Mohammed in the back room in the yard and then hanged herself. According to preliminary version, she decided to take this step after a quarrel with her husband. The fact is that her husband had recently gone to work in Russia. Before her husband left for Russia, they had a quarrel as the wife wanted to leave with her husband. But he refused to take his family with himself. So, Gizilgul decided to commit a double murder,” Safarov noted. An investigation is underway.
