Street security cameras help to solve about 2,000 cases in Azerbaijan

The City Security Office of the Interior Ministry of Azerbaijan has released statistics of the cases solved with the help of security cameras installed on the Baku streets.
Chief of the office Ilgar Guliyev said the street cameras helped to solve about 2,000 cases, as well as more than 20,000 violations of traffic rules, 972 road accidents, including 23 pedestrian accidents.

As many as 110 violations of public order, 8 fire incidents, two cases of traffic hooliganism, harming human's health, finding dead body and 52 other criminal cases were solved with the help of cameras.

An incident involving the use of arms in Surakhani district of Baku was also solved with the help of cameras, which detected a car used during the incident.

The cameras also detected and helped to detain BMW wanted in Russia.

30 unknown cars involved in pedestrian accidents were also found due to their images recorded by the street cameras.
