President of Mauritania Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz and his spouse have today visited the Azerbaijan National History Museum here.

The Mauritanian leader was informed about the museum.
The building constructed in 1895-1897 was a property of Azerbaijani millionaire Haji Zeynalabdin Tagiyev.
The building became a museum in 1920. The museum has the collection of items reflecting all periods of Azerbaijan's history.
In accordance with President Ilham Aliyev's decree the building was restored to its original appearance.
Mauritanian leader viewed the displays concerning Albania, Atropatene and Sirvanshah, historical regions in present-day Azerbaijan.
Photographs and historical documents reflect the life and activity of famous persons who obtained education with Tagiyev`s support.
Director of the Museum, Naila Valikhanly, said the museum has over 300,000 items.
The Mauritanian President saw exhibits of Haji Zeynalabdin Tagiyev memorial museum.
Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz signed the museum's guestbook.
The Mauritanian President was presented keepsakes.
