President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation realizes successful health programs

Health programs implemented by First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva are very successful, Foundation's expert for thalassemia, head of the Turkish Thalassemia Federation and Akdeniz Foundation of Blood Diseases Duran Canatan told Anadolu news agency.

He pointed out he would be cooperating with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in fighting thalassemia.

Education programs and legal projects will be started under the Life without Thalassemia project.

With measures put in place in Azerbaijan, there will be no children born with thalassemia in three years. It will allow saving AZN 13 million.

On the instructions of Mehriban Aliyeva, Turkish doctor said, volunteers will visit Baku to train personnel in Azerbaijan.

According to him, a symposium on blood bank will take place in Azerbaijan later in November.
