Azerbaijan prohibits Avto Baku imports

The Azerbaijani State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patent banned Avto Baku imports after monitoring revealed environmental, safety, quality and public health violations. Avto Baku head Chakar Ozkan and other staff members also broke the law by hindering the committee's auditing and monitoring activities.

Ozkan was fined $4,000 manat. Earlier Avto Baku sent a letter to the committee requesting the right to declare imported goods that did not comply with local safety and quality standards.
