Lithuanian delegation visits mass grave in Azerbaijan's Guba region

A delegation of the Lithuanian Resurrection Party together with a group of the Azerbaijani MPs visited the mass grave in Azerbaijan's Guba region on Aug. 18. The delegation members were briefed on the atrocities committed by Armenians against Azerbaijanis in 1918 in the region.

The Lithuanian visitors described the grave as a “real sign of a terrible crime”.

Member of the Lithuanian Seima's Committee on Foreign Affairs and Lithuania-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Friendship Group Arunas Valinskas called the grave as the “greatest historical fact”.

He said “everyone must be aware of the bloody pages in the Azerbaijani people's history”.

As part of the trip, the Lithuanian delegation visited “Krasnaya sloboda” (Red settlement) to meet members of the Jewish community. The delegation members also visited the Guba Region Executive Power where they were briefed on the region's social and economic, cultural as well as tourism opportunities.
