Over 100 children circumcised for free in Baku

Deputy Head Physician of Republican Clinic Mahir Babayev said the circumcised children were mainly from Yasamal District of Baku. During the procedure, the doctors experienced some difficulties because some teenagers were afraid of surgery. For example, doctors had to circumcise a 13-year old boy only after calming him down.

Doctor Assad Aliyev says such cases are not so rare. "Sometimes parents have their children circumcised very late for various reasons. We had to circumcize even 17-year-old boy. In later life, children are very scared, and we therefore recommend that parents bring their children for circumcision as early as possible. The best time for circumcision is when a baby turns 40 days. This has a very good effect on physiological development of a child,” the doctor said.
