Latvian ex-president visits Tezepir Mosque Complex in Baku

Former Latvian President, Vice-president of the Reflection Group on the long-term future of the European Union Vaira Vike-Freiberga visited the Tezepir mosque complex as part of her Azerbaijan trip on Sept. 12.

Mrs. Vike-Freiberga was informed of the reconstruction of the complex. She was told the complex houses the building of the Baku Islamic University among other facilities. Mrs. Vike-Freiberga viewed the mosque's library which features 6,000 books. Former Latvian president was accompanied by Azerbaijani MP Ganira Pashayeva and Latvian ambassador in Baku Hardijs Baumanis.
