Man dies of heart attack, after conflicting with police officer in Azerbaijani region

Resident of Grumba village of Azerbaijan’s Lankaran region Mammadhuseyn Huseynov, 49, was arrested by an inspector of the State Traffic Police in Digah village of the region on his way in car with his family to a wedding party in the Lankaran city.

The inspector asked him to show documents saying that the number of passengers in the car exceeds the norm. According to witnesses and Huseynov’s family members, after use of force against the driver by the inspector, health of the 49-year old driver deteriorated sharply. Huseynov died on the way to the Lankaran central regional hospital.

Lankaran police office said the driver died of a heart attack. Assistant Attorney of Lankaran region Rashad Tanriverdiyev said that the fact is under investigation. The true cause of Huseynov’s death will be known only after a forensic examination.
