"Georgian government pays special attention to Azerbaijanis' involvement in sport"

The Georgia Government pays special attention to involvement of Azerbaijanis to the sport, Georgian Minister of Youth and Sports said.
New gyms and sports schools are being built in Azerbaijani-populated regions of Georgia, Vladimir Vardzelashvili, Minister of Youth and Sport of Georgia, told journalists today in Baku. According to him, the Azerbaijanis living in Georgia, are active in sports.

"Azerbaijanis living in Georgia are involved in all programs related to youth policy and sports", Vardzelashvili said.

According to informal statistics, about 500,000 Azerbaijanis live in Georgia. Vladimir Vardzelashvili also noted that during his visit to Baku, he intends to meet with his Azerbaijani counterpart, and discuss further cooperation in this field.

Georgian Minister attends the 18th informal conference of sports ministers of the European countries. The conference, which takes place every two years, is attended by representatives of 36 European countries.
