Azerbaijani and Austrian musicians' tribute to Uzeir Hajibeyli

The Azerbaijan and Austrian musicians gave a joint concert on September 22 at Pallavicini Palace in Vienna to pay a tribute to the great Azerbaijani composer Uzeir Hajibeyli and mark his 125th birthday.
The Ambassador Fuad Ismailov, Head of Department for bi- and multilateral cultural affairs, Federal Ministry for Education, the Arts and Culture Norbert Riedl, People’s artist of Azerbaijan, Prof. Farkhad Badalbayli spoke about the invaluable role of Uzeir Hajibeyli in the development of Azerbaijan classical music.

Speaking at the opening of the concert, both Azerbaijani and Austrian musicians have agreed to organize such concerts each year on September 18 to mark the national music day.

The program of the concert included pieces from “Koroglu” opera, “Arshin mal alan” operetta and other masterpieces of Uzeir Hajibeyli. After the concert the Azerbaijan Embassy to Austria hosted a reception.
