"Shusha" is being taken down, what's next?

04 October 2010 [16:06] - TODAY.AZ
There were times, when the "Shusha" movie theater in Baku was considered one of the biggest in the city. A lot, however, has changed since. In 2006, Ministry of Culture and Tourism "released" it, and after that, former theater was used for furniture sales and even operated as a teahouse.

As of today, the building is being demolished. Until now, the reasons for its demolition have remained unknown. One of the people, working on the site, Kamal Shabiyev said the following: We received orders to demolish the building, and we were given only one week to do all this. So we have to work in any weather."

Shabiyev added, that no other building is scheduled to be built on the spot, and that the resting place will be organized there instead.
