The National Broadcasting Council of Azerbaijan (NBCA) has called on television channels not to show footage of dead bodies in their broadcasts.
"The faces of the dead and traces of blood should not be broadcast. There are rules adopted by the Council and each television channel is responsible for fulfilling them," the NBCA Chairman old Trend. "Shots depicting the cruel killing of people should not be shown before 11pm. Scenes of violence which have a negative impact on people's psyche should not be shown, or at least they should be limited."
"If the television channels consciously and deliberately show similar shots and such scenes that have a negative impact on people, the NBCA will take serious measures against them. The first measure will be a warning, then a fine, and finally the channel may have its license revoked," Maharramli added.
