Quran readers from Azerbaijan to participate in international contest in Ukraine

Ukraine will host International Competition of Quran Readers for the first time. The competition is sponsored by Competition the World Islamic Charitable Organization (Kuwait) and the World Organization for Learning the Holy Quran (Saudi Arabia).

The competition will be attended by Quran readers from the former Soviet countries like Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Belarus, Russia and Ukraine.

As usual, the contestants will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the text of the Holy Quran at the following levels: knowledge of the whole Quran by heart (30 juz '), knowledge of half of the holy book (15 juz') and a quarter of it starting from Yasin surah and the last 3 juz.

The contest will be held at the Islamic Cultural Center in Simferopol on October 24-25.
