
The revenue cutters bought by Azerbaijan from Estonia will be used to combat smuggling in the Caspian Sea, chairman of the State Customs Committee Aydin Aliyev said. According to the committee chairman, the cutters have been tested and are in line with the conditions of the Caspian Sea. The cutters have been supplied with necessary equipment.
Aydin Aliyev noted that some customs checkpoints are being reconstructed.
“Bilasuvar, Balaken and Samur checkpoints have already opened. Sinig Korpu and Astara checkpoints have been reconstructed and are ready for opening. These checkpoints have been supplied with modern equipment,” he said.
