Media Academy organizes seminar on media development in Azerbaijan

The U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan and Media Academy of the Azerbaijani Public Association Irali organized a seminar on the media development in the country.

The seminar conducted by the expert of the U.S. Poynter Institute Multimedia and Mobile Services Faculty, Regina McCombs, covered the topics such as effective use of social media in the news, distributing of interesting video footages and attracting audiences to digital systems, the Media Academy said.

Today, the country-social network users are as follows: 41% - the U.S., 2.7% - Azerbaijan, 1% - Iran, 7.7% - Georgia and etc. Following the outcome of the seminar, McCombs responded to questions from the audience.

The academy is part of the Irali Public Association. It offers young people the chance to realize their projects, to intern in leading news agencies, newspapers, and radio and television stations, and to learn the secrets of the field by communicating with industry experts. The academy's courses aimed to train open-minded, educated and professional young journalists.
