The fifth session of the conference of the parties to the UN Convention against Transnational Organized Crime started in Vienna.

Azerbaijan is represented by delegations of the Presidential Administration, Ministries of the National Security, Justice and Interior Affairs, Prosecutor office and Ambassador Fuad Ismayilov.
This intergovernmental conference will discuss the implementation of the Convention and its three Protocols, namely the Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, the Protocol against the Smuggling of Migrants by Land, Sea and Air and the Protocol against the Illicit Manufacturing of and Trafficking in Firearms.
Azerbaijan was represented by the deputy chief of the department on work with law-enforcement bodies of the Presidential Administration Gulnara Rasulova, who told of Azerbaijan's role in combat against transnational organized crime. She said favorable conditions were created for various kinds of crimes on Azerbaijani territories occupied by Armenians and that uncontrolled territories impede to effectively combat with transnational organized crime.
In the framework of conference, also were held roundtable meetings, seminars and briefings.
