Azerbaijani Television wins tender to open Culture Channel

CJSC Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting (AzTV) won the tender of the National Television and Radio Council of Azerbaijan (NTRC) to open "Culture" channel in Azerbaijan, the NTRC said today.

According to the NTRC decision, Aug. 4-Sept. 4 a competition was held to open a "Culture" channel in Baku and Absheron Peninsula at 44 frequency, which was extended until Oct. 7.

The National Council usually after receiving applications considers them within a month, however, given that the application has been submitted only by one structure, consideration was completed within a shorter period of time.
