Baku hosts international forum on dialogue of cultures and languages

The sixth international forum “Dialogue of cultures and languages in the Commonwealth of Independent States and Shanghai Cooperation Organization in the 21st century” started in Baku on Tuesday. The forum is organized by the CIS Interstate Humanitarian Cooperation Foundation, Moscow State Linguistic University and Baku Slavic University.

The event marks the 20th anniversary of the CIS and 10th anniversary of the CIS organization of languages and cultures.

The forum is attended by Executive Secretary of the CIS Executive Committee Sergey Lebedev, Russian MPs, Azeri Deputy Education Minister Irade Huseynova, rectors from Russia, Belarus, Tajikistan, Ukraine, teachers and students. Opening the event Lebedev thanked the Azerbaijan government for the support in organizing the forum. He said there is huge potential for cooperation between peoples in Eurasia.
