
The State Veterinary Service under the Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan as a result of laboratory analysis of blood samples and pathological material taken from domestic and wild birds in the country, didn't reveal a causative agent of the "bird flu" virus in them, the service said.
The Service launched his regular monitoring on Nov.1. Pathological material from 18 species of wild and eight species of domestic poultry, blood samples of 1,119 species of poultry were analyzed. The monitoring was held in the Absheron Peninsula, in national parks and reserves in Shabran, Salyan, and Agjabedi and Lankaran regions, as well as coastal areas of the country.
Monitoring to reveal facts of infection by "bird flu" virus was held by the Veterinary Service jointly with the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, as well as the Society of Hunters.
The next monitoring will begin Dec.13.
