Azerbaijani carpet exhibition underway in London - PHOTOS

An exhibition of Azerbaijani carpets entitled “Azerbaijan: Flying Carpet to Fairy Tale” organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Azerbaijan`s embassy to UK, Baku Magazine opened Monday in London.

Head of the Russia Office of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyev attended the opening of the exhibition.

Azeri Ambassador Fakhraddin Gurbanov thanked First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO goodwill ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva and Head of the Foundation`s Russia Office, Editor-in-Chief of the Baku Magazine Leyla Aliyeva for their support in organizing the event in London.

Speaking at the event, Leyla Aliyeva underlined the importance of the exhibition in terms of awareness-raising about Azerbaijan.

Leyla Aliyeva touched upon carpet-weaving art in Azerbaijan. She expressed hope that the exhibition would allow learning more about Azerbaijani culture.

The English version of the “Azerbaijan” publication was presented on the sidelines of the exhibition. Visitors of the exhibition viewed brilliant masterpieces of carpet weaving from different parts of Azerbaijan. The event will last until November 21.
