Entry of cars to Baku downtown to be restricted

Entry of cars to the several areas of Baku will be restricted, starting from next year. Presently, one of the places like this is Fountain Square.

According to Sadraddin Mammadov, the Head of the Azerbaijan Transport Ministry’s Department of Transport Policy & Economy, the number and cover of limited areas for cars will be increased next year, including "Torgovaya" part of Nizami Street.

At the same time, the Ministry will start to establish parking grounds in the entry parts of the city. These stations will be established in all entries of the city – near the Mashadi Azizbayov metro station, around of Baku Autostation, near the Azneft Square, entry from the side of Zig settlement, beginning of Babek Avenue.

He also noted that, the parking fee of the cars will be lower than it was before. The stations must be supplied with all parking equipments, cameras and other control plants. These stations will be able to receive/hold 100 000 cars.
