District police captain knife stabbed in Azerbaijan's Lankaran town

The town police office told APA’s south bureau that district police captain Rufulla Nuriyev, 49, was stabbed with a knife on the line of duty by a man called Etibar on the Shehidler Khiyabani street.

The injured police officer was taken to the resuscitation department of Lankaran Central Hospital. Doctor on duty Telman Khurshudov told APA’s local bureau that Rufulla Nuriyev underwent four-hour surgery, he is in critical condition.

The police detained Etibar Baloglan Babayev, 32, on November 19. Lankaran police office is investigating the fact.
