Azerbaijan Diploamtic Academy library to cooperate with Alexandria Library

Library of Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA) will cooperate with the Alexandria Library. An agreement was reached during a meeting between ADA`s rector Hafiz Pashayev and Director of the Library of Alexandria Ismail Serageldin.

Pashayev familiarized Serageldin with ADA`s plans to expand its library. The rector said the new library would have hundreds of thousands of books, adding it would be the largest foreign-language library in Caucasus. Pashayev said the facility would feature a digital library.

Serageldin praised ADA`s plans to create a state-of-the-art library.

Library of Alexandria in Egypt is considered to have been the largest and most significant library of the ancient world. It flourished under the patronage of the Ptolemaic dynasty and functioned as a major center of scholarship from its construction in the third century BC until the Roman conquest of Egypt in 48 BC.
