One of Azerbaijani pilgrims died in Syria, Rahima Dadasheva spokesperson for the Caucasus Muslim Board, said.

According to the information, he is a 68-year-old resident of country's Shamakhi region Mafi Nazarov. Dadasheva said that Nazarov's state worsened when a bus with pilgrims, returning to Azerbaijan after the Hajj, was in Syria. Nazarov was taken to hospital. But doctors failed to save him.
According to the instructions of Sheikh-ul-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazade, the head of the Caucasus Muslim Borad, an agreement was reached with the airline "Türk Hava Yolları" to deliver the body of the deceased to his homeland.
It was reported earlier, that a 75-year-old resident of Jalilabad region Duha Mammadova felt bad and died in Mecca October 16, as well as a pilgrim Khanbala Atakishiyev died in the Syrian city of Sham.
Roughly 2,000 pilgrims from Azerbaijan have committed Hajj this year; 1,200 of them went there by bus, 800 - by plane.
