Ecology ministry: Armenia conducts total war against Azerbaijan using environmental methods

Total war of Armenia against Azerbaijan continues through environmental methods, spokesperson of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources Irada Ibrahimova said.

"The rivers flowing from the occupied territories are actively used in the environmental terror committed by the Armenians. The next act of environmental terrorism has occurred on the Injichay River originating from Murovdag and flowing through the territories of the occupied Gyulustan and Talish villages, where the Armenian military units are located," said Ibrahimova.

According to her, severe pollution was found in the river on Nov. 19.  

"Residents of the Tapgaragoyunlu village found muddy, heavily foaming streams of water in the Injichay River, the only source of drinking water. They reported it to the territorial office of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources. A task force of specialists from the ministry was created to assess the current environmental situation, and measuring work was carried out at this facility by means of mobile equipment within a short time," said the ministry spokesperson. 
According to her, water samples were analyzed for harmful chemicals in the central analytical laboratory of the Ministry, and the result revealed a serious deterioration in river water quality.

"Analyses have shown that the level of hydrogen in the water in Injichay River, related to a group of hydrocarbon-water, has dramatically reduced, resulting in change of the composition of the water, turning from the alkaline to the acid, and strong violation of the oxygen regime of water. Chemical analysis and study of water samples are currently continuing," said Ibrahimova.
