Azerbaijan - first whiskey producer on Caucasus

Director General of “Tovuz Baltia” Naig Mammadhasanov said the company will start producing whiskey at the Scottish side’s proposal.

"Until the end of year, production will amount around 15 thousand bottles. It will depend on market reaction to our new product. Meanwhile, German businessmen have already expressed interest in our whiskey production,” he said.

The director general said they already have a demand for such products of Indian origin, Mammadhasanov added.

At present, “Tovuz Baltia” realizes only 20% percent of its products in domestic market with the rest 80 percent being exported to CIS and European Union.
