UNICEF carries out joint projects with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation to solve problems in education of disabled children in Azerbaijan, UNICEF Baku Office head Mark Hereward said on Thursday.
"Only 14,000 of 56,000 children with disabilities in the country receive education. UNICEF uses its capabilities to educate all disabled children," Hereward said.
According to him, UNICEF is also collaborating with the Education Ministry to solve this problem.
"We are trying to train the Azerbaijani teachers to work with disabled children," Hereward said.
