Baku State University to boost Chinese language teaching

Rector of Baku State University (BSU), academician Abel Maharramov met with Chinese ambassador to Azerbaijan Zhang Yannyan today. The Ambassador expressed gratitude for the support to Chinese professors at Baku State University and for training of personnel for Foreign Ministry of People’s Republic of China.

Rector Abel Maharramov touched on the agreement between BSU and Ankhoi University on joint creation of the Confucius Institute at BSU. The Confucius Institute is expected to open on April 20, 2011.

Ankhoi University will annually send qualified teachers of Chinese language and culture to Confucius Institute and provide textbooks, manuals and audio materials for the educational process, rector said.

In addition, Ankhoi University will annually accept students of the Confucius Institute at the Baku State University. BSU undertakes ampaigning and advertising a variety of activities to attract applicants to the Confucius Institute, conducts training and research seminars and conferences in the framework of the Confucius Institute.
