Japanese government grants $97,000 to improve water system in Agjabady region

The government of Japan has allotted $ 97000 to improve a water system in Taxtakorpu area of Agjabady region of Azerbaijan within the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects.

The project was implemented for refugees from Lachin region. Japan`s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Shushke Vatanabe, program director of the World Vision International Organization Cristina Balaneski and mayors of Agjabady and Lachin regions participated in the opening ceremony.

The participants visited the kindergartens, secondary school and hospital funded by the government of Japan and World Vision International-Azerbaijan (WVI).

Mayor of Lachin region thanked the government of Japan and WVI for concern for refugees. Mr. Vatanabe briefed on projects being implemented in Azerbaijan adding such mission would be further continued.
