Bear seized from Mardakan Arboretum in Azerbaijan

A bear was seized from the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences' Mardakan Arboretum, the Environment and Natural Resources Ministry reported today. The measures were taken in accordance with the law on fauna.

The ministry conducted a raid together with the tax authorities on Nov. 25- Dec. 2 to prevent the unlawful seizure and their storage of animals in leisure complexes, restaurants, cafes and other facilities.About 20 wild animals have been freed thus far.
