Azerbaijani ombudsperson meets Turkish Justice Academy's Deputy Director

Suleymanova described the referendum held in September this year in Turkey as an “important historical event in public and political life of the friendly country and victory of democracy”.

She noted one of the important amendments and changes made to the Constitution during the referendum was setting up an Ombudsman Institute in the country.

Suleymanova pointed out establishment of the Ombudsman Institute would contribute to ensuring human rights and freedoms in Turkey more effectively.

She also briefed Ural on what the Ombudsman Institute had done in Azerbaijan to strengthen the protection of human rights.

Ural, in turn, praised the workings of Azerbaijan's Ombudsman Institute. He said he was interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan's Ombudsman Institute.
