Azerbaijani swimmers to vie for World Cup medals

Azerbaijani athletes Farid Hajizade, Dmitry Cherkasov and Boris Kirilov will participate in the World Cup, the Youth and Sports Ministry reported. The World Swimming Championships will be held in the UAE city of Dubai on Dec.13- 19. Competitions will be held in 25-meter pool.

The opening ceremony organized by the Dubai Sport Council and the U.A.E Swimming Association will be held on Dec.15. The world championships in swimming will be attended by approximately 1,000 athletes and members of delegations of 140 countries.

The previous World Championships took place in 2008 in Manchester (UK).
