More than 10,000 Azerbaijanis study at universities abroad

The number of the Azerbaijanis studying abroad has increased recently, said Deputy Minister of Education Elmar Gasimov. According to him, about 10,000 Azerbaijanis are studying abroad through the state program, interstate agreements, embassies' scholarships and through their own funds.

“About 1,000 Azerbaijanis are studying through the state program at the most prestigious universities on very important specialties, including biotechnology, nanotechnology, medicine, engineering and other specialties”.

He also noted that those studying abroad through the state programs do not face problems over employment after returning to Azerbaijan.

Gasimov noted that 6,500 foreigners from 50 countries are studying in Azerbaijani educational institutions. The foreigners mainly study at Baku State University, State Oil Academy, Architecture and Construction University, Technical University and etc.
