An “Open lesson” at AUL was organized

On December 21, an “Open lesson” was organized on the initiative of Sevindj Kazimova, a Head teacher of the Azerbaijan literature department with the students of the English School No1, Groups 224, 225 at Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL).

The lesson was dedicated to the creative activities of children’s poets – professor Zahid Khalil and Rafig Yusifoglu, Honoured Art Worker, editor in chief of the “Goyarchin” magazine. Afgan Abdullayev, the dean of the English School No1, Farida Safiyeva, Head of the Azerbaijan literature department and Elmira Mustafayeva, a teacher of the same department participated in the event.

At the beginning of the event a slide reflecting lives and creative activities of the poets was demonstrated. Further on, Kazimova thanked the guests for their presence and the University leadership for support. She spoke of the importance of children’s literature, its positive influence on the youth and added that the department had used the books by Z.Khalil and B.Yusifoglu in the teaching process. The students brought the biographies and poems of the poets to the attention of the participants.

In their turns the poets said that open class is a very interesting method and has great advantages in teaching process.

Z.Khalil said that moral beauty of the world affected his poetry at the beginning of his creative activity, but he complained of today’s children’s literature. He advised the students to read more and more in order to gain something in life.

R.Yusifoglu stressed Z. Khalil’s irreplacable role  in his  creative activity.
He said that he is in close relations with students and such kind of open classes give significant opportunities to  the student. He recited some of his poems. Then students asked the guests severakl questions they were interested in. At the end of the class A.Abdullayev thanked the guests and the organizers of the class. He wished them great success in their future activities.

It should be noted that Z.Khalil and R.Yusifoglu are the authors of many children’s poems.
