27 December 2010 [17:36] - TODAY.AZ
"I think part-time studies will never be abolished in Azerbaijan. We will save its essence, but change only form”, member of the parliamentary committee on education and sciences, Rector of Baku State University Abel Maharramov said.

The member of the parliament said part-time education could be replaced by distant education and added that there is no reason for concerns.

“Today students have two education auditoriums – auditorium of dialogue with professors and virtual university. The virtual university is advantageous for the part-time students. For example, there are more that 90 thousands of students if the English Open University. 80 thousands of them are getting distant education. It means that part-time education can change its forms in the future and be distant. There are no reasons for concerns”.
