Traffic accidents kill ten people in Azerbaijan during the holidays

A total of 47 traffic accidents took place in Azerbaijan during holidays. The accidents killed 10 and wounded 60, during the holidays from Dec.31 to Jan.5, Azerbaijani Interior Ministry's Central Traffic Police Department official Kamran Agayev told Trend today.

About 18 of the traffic accidents, including three deaths and 22 injuries occurred in Baku.

Most of the traffic accidents were recorded on Jan.1, when the number of traffic accidents reached 20, leaving three dead and 25 wounded. Twelve of them happened in Baku, with one person dead and 16 others wounded, while five among these involved pedestrian.

Agayev said the traffic accident mostly occurred due to car crashes. Fewer accidents on the roads of republic significance were recorded, with the number of traffic accidents due to bad weather having decreased compared to last year, as the good weather was reported during these holidays.
