Georgian burglars detained in Azerbaijan's Sumgait city

Officers of the Police Department of Sumgait city of Azerbaijan have detained a group of Georgian burglars of three people, Police Major of the department Shaig Aliyev said.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the group was operating in Azerbaijan for about a year. Detainees are resident of Ckhaltoba town of Georgia Karajan Chichikovich, 30, resident of the same town, but the Russian citizen, Girishiani Petrovich, 47, and citizen of Georgia Otsiridze Sulikovich, 27.

They committed the latest theft on December 31. The burglars stole a variety of foreign currency in small amounts, and most importantly, several bottles of expensive wine from an apartment in Sumgait. They drank the wine immediately after the robbery thus celebrating the New Year.

Georgians have long been renowned for the skill of lock picking. The inquest found that skillful thieves spend maximum of 6 minutes to open the most difficult doors.
