Azerbaijan's first lady visits "Saule" Social Development Center in Riga - UPDATE - PHOTOS

Azerbaijan`s first lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador, MP Mehriban Aliyeva visited “Saule” Social Development Center in Riga on Monday.

Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva was informed that the purpose of this non-governmental organization established by international donors in 1995 was to assist mentally retarded people in integrating into society.

Handicrafts of people that the center cares about are demonstrated in international exhibitions. The organization also closely participates in civil society building. Azerbaijan`s first lady was informed about various charitable projects realized by the center. Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva familiarized herself with center and saw handicrafts here.

Then, the first lady watched concert performed by members of the center. Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva and first lady of Latvia Lilita Zatlere posed for photographs together with members of the center.

First ladies of Azerbaijan and Latvia were presented keepsakes.
Notebooks were donated to the “Saule” Social Development Center on behalf of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

The First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador, MP, Mehriban Aliyeva on January 17 visited PUTTI Art Gallery in Riga.

The hosts of the gallery told Ms. Aliyeva that the art gallery PUTTI was established in 2000 with a precisely defined aim to present the unique artworks of contemporary Latvian jewelers to the local and international audience.

The PUTTI displays jewelry of most recognized and professional designers of Latvia. The gallery presents only unique handcrafted jewelry of exceptional quality.

Ms. Mehriban Aliyeva toured the exhibition organized on the eve of the New Year and Christmas holidays.

As part of President Ilham Aliyev`s official visit to Latvia, first lady of Azerbaijan, president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador, MP Mehriban Aliyeva met Monday first lady of Latvia Lilita Zatlere. The first ladies had a warm conversation at the tea table.
