Birth rate reaches all-time high in 16 years in Azerbaijan

In 2010, 165,000 babies have been born and 56 600 persons died in Azerbaijan. Thus, the birth exceeded the death by 3.1 times.

According to SSC, 165.6 thousand babies have been born in Azerbaijan and this is record high during the past 16 years. 53.9 % of newborn babies was boy, 46.1% - girls. 1670 were twins.

Most of the babies were named as Ali, Muhammad, Huseyn, Murad, Nihad, Zahra, Fatima, Nuray, Fidan and Narmin.
