
State Statistics Committee chairman Arif Valiyev held a press conference on social and macroeconomic indicators of Azerbaijan in 2011. Valiyev said that within the last year GDP increased by 5% reached to AZN 41.6 bln. GDP per capita increased by 3.7% and was AZN 4 653.3.
Valiyev noted that total volume of industrial production rose 2.6% in Azerbaijan, as well as non-oil industry – 6.6%, investment directed to main capital – 21.2%, including investment in non-oil sector – 15.1%, cargo transportation in transport sector – 3.1%, information and communication services – 29.7%, retail commodity circulation – 9%, paid services consumed to population – 10.8%, foreign trade turnover – 34.9%, population income – 11.9%, production in agricultural sphere slipped 2.2%.
“State budget income made AZN 11 402.5 mln, expenditures – AZN 11 766.0 mln within the last year. In general, compared to 2009, income of state budget rose 10.4% and expenditures – 12%.
Valiyev said that level of poverty decreased by 1.8% and made 9.1%: “Generally, poverty level decreased by 4.9% within last 7 years in Azerbaijan.”
