Azerbaijan tightens control over strategic facilities

25 January 2011 [18:43] - TODAY.AZ
The control over strategic facilities has been increased in Azerbaijan following the terror act committed in the Domodedovo airport of Russia.

The Azerbaijani law enforcement agencies increased security control over the country's strategic facilities, including the international oil pipelines, energy carriers, the foreign countries' embassies and diplomatic missions in Azerbaijan, major trade centers, airports, railway stations and subways, Deputy Spokesman to the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry Ehsan Zahidov told Trend today.

"The terrorist attack committed in Moscow yesterday, urges the Azerbaijani law enforcement agencies, including the Interior Ministry, to be more vigilant to ensure reliable security," Zahidov said.

Regardless of accidents outside of Azerbaijan, the country has ensured public order and security of citizens, he added.

Zakhidov also urged people to be vigilant and assist the Interior Ministry in this case.

"We ask all citizens to be vigilant and immediately report to the Ministry's "102" service of suspicious persons and incidents," Zahidov said.
