Azerbaijan's ecology minister elected member of European Council of Ministers on environmental section

Azerbaijan’s Ecology and Natural Resources Minister Huseyngulu Bagirov was elected the member of the European Council of Ministers on environmental section, head of press service of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources Irada Ibrahimova said.

MENR received a letter on it with the signature of WHO European Regional Director for Europe Zsuzsanna Jakab and director of UN Economic Commission for Europe Jan Kubish. The letter reads that the environment ministers of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Romania and Turkey were elected the members of the European Council of Ministers on environment section at the 17th session of UN Economic Commission for Europe committee on Environmental Policy which was held in Geneva on November 2-5 last year.

At the same time, the 1st meeting of UN Economic Commission for Europe’s Council of Ministers is planned to be held in April 2011.
