One dead, two injured in cargo ship fire in Baku - UPDATE

One person died and two injured during the strong fire occurred on a board of "Shirvan" cargo ship docked in the water area of Baku, a law enforcement source told Trend.

The Azerbaijan State Caspian Shipping Company said that at present, a committee consisting of the heads of the organization and shipping specialists, who investigate the cause of the incident, has been established.

Garayev Raqif died, his father Garayev Yurka, who works with him on the ship got injury during the accident, the source said.

Another victim of the fire was delivered to the Clinical Medical Centre.

"We received only one wounded 40-year old Mirzoyev Shaig. He has minor maxillofacial injuries. His state is normal", Medical Centre earlier told Trend.

The strong fire occurred on a board of "Shirvan" cargo ship on Tuesday, Azerbaijan State Caspian Sea Shipping Company told Trend earlier.

Senior representatives of the State Caspian Sea Shipping Company arrived on the scene. There is no official information about the incident yet.
